Project Role

Studying soil development at Damerham to learn about landscape changes and human impact on the site.

Biography

I’m a geoarchaeologist, currently completing my MPhil in Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge. I study landscape change and human impact on the landscape through soil, and am looking at soil development at the Damerham site and how prehistoric people understood and utilised it. I am also interested in prehistoric aesthetics and monument construction in Bronze Age southern Britain. On site I’m usually found at the bottom of trenches taking soil samples. The Damerham Archaeology Project is my first major archaeological endeavour.
